Rowan specializes in business development and sales. Graduating as a journeyman Parts Technician from Lethbridge College and moving to game development and entrepreneurship, his skills span a variety of industries. Having a background in management and business operations. Rowan loves to connect and meet new people, whether through online games or in the real world.

Brett is a creative, full-stack software developer with a passion for art, music, and of course, videogames. Having organized and attended several game jams in the past, Brett looks forward to new challenges in 2025/2026. He will be exploring the world of grant writing, partnerships, and organizing major events.

Secretary: Dillan Schmitz

Dillan is an award-winning Composer & Sound-Designer based in Calgary. Previous projects of his include the viral “Get to Work” and the upcoming “Shade Protocol” as seen on IGN. Dillan was also a speaker at GDC 2025. Within the CGDA Dillan has worked to bolster the community events by taking the reins on organizing indie Fridays and the monthly meetup alongside behind the scenes additional event support and administrative tasks. Alongside this Dillan has been a primary spokesperson for the CGDA appearing on interviews for the CGDA with CBC, Global News and CTV.

Hamish has been a teacher in the Advanced Game Development Program for over 2 years at Bow Valley College. He is also an Unreal Engine Developer at Nice Axe Games based out of Calgary, currently working on Kali and Ko. Finally, he is the Unreal Engine Community Chapter Lead in Calgary. Through his work with the CGDA, he aims to bridge the gap for aspiring game developers, foster outreach for new opportunities, and explore ways to enhance the skill sets of individuals in the community.

Sarah is a Public Relations professional based in Calgary, Alberta. With a background in media relations and communications strategy development, her portfolio encompasses a solid combination of media tactics, content creation and brand promotion. She is driven to deliver creative public relations solutions rooted in tangible results. In her spare time, Sarah likes to tap into her imaginative side and explore new worlds through video games.

Aidan is a passionate Game Developer, specializing in 3D development with Unity. Aidan has taken part in 10+ Game Jams. Partnered with teams all over the world, and continues to create partnerships with studios all over Canada. He has been involved with the CGDA since 2021, and is eager to take initiative with the Arcade program!

Aiden Imbeau is a community and game developer passionate about supporting local events and initiatives. With previous experience in indie, large-scale F2P, and other creative projects, Aiden is dedicated to iterative pipelines, experimentation, and upholding different perspectives.

Dave is a game developer running an indie studio based out of Calgary called Naturally Intelligent. He is well versed in Godot Engine and experienced in many aspects of game design including 2D, 3D, physics, multiplayer, ai, and beyond, including web and app development. Having found teammates through the CGDA in the past and present, Dave aims to give back to the local game dev community by connecting others and helping run events. He also built the Arcade Launcher and loves to assist gamedevs with porting their games onto the CalgaryCade Arcade Machines.

Director: Illia Bielikov

Illia is a game developer with more than a decade of experience in the field, who started with Macromedia Flash 8 as a kid and ended up using Godot (most recent project being BEANDEJO). Jack of (mostly) all trades, who is passionate about the quality of visuals and user feedback, not only the way systems are programmed. Believes that indie developers should constantly prototype and utilize unique gameplay mechanics, as well as interesting concepts, much more, instead of stereotypically trying to make their dream game. His focus in CGDA will be on creating more game development-related content and helping with building up the CGDA’s social media presence even more.

Luke is an Associate Product Marketing Manager at Digital Extremes, where he has spent the past year working primarily on the F2P title, Warframe. Prior to his current role, he was a Product Manager at New World Interactive, leading the strategy and development efforts on Insurgency: Sandstorm. With a strong commitment to game marketing, product management, and community development, Luke is dedicated to supporting the growth of the games industry in Calgary and beyond.

Rachel has been an active member of the Calgary Game Developers Association since 2021 and is excited to step into the role as a Director. Rachel currently works at Devolver Digital, supporting developers in publishing and bringing their games to players around the world. Being actively involved in the industry has fueled her passion for strengthening the local game development scene. As a Director, Rachel looks forward to helping the association grow and leading new initiatives that support and uplift local developers.
